Cleats & Plates
CLEATS
Cleats are bolted or welded on to the main steelwork of a building frame for the secondary steel or timber tie members (Purlins) to be bolted on to.
For this reason cleats are made from heavy steel plate in a variety of sizes to suit agricultural and industrial building application.
Most farm buildings use a timber purlin, Eliteform manufacture a cleat that meets the requirements of the Farm Waste and Management Grant Scheme.
A number of different cleats are manufactured for industrial building applications for further information please contact Eliteform sales.
PLATES
Plates are a flat piece of steel with holes punched in them and are welded to the ends of the main steel so that a bolted connection can be made to the next steel part.
Again different sizes and hole locations are manufactured to suit for holding down plates on the bottom of columns to concrete foundations or for different bolted connections on the superstructure of the steel frame.
